Facebook Ads & Promoted Posts - Friday, May 3

Facebook wants you to pay to "promote" your posts. Twitter offers sponsored tweets. In this month's free lunch workshop, we'll review the options and talk about when it makes sense to pay to get your message out in Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

Social Media Ads that Target Exactly Who You Want to Reach

At Firecat, we've been doing more and more social media campaigns and related advertising, and we're ready to share what we've learned. In this free lunch workshop, we'll dive into the Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn options for running low-cost ads on a controlled, daily maximum budget. The demographics choices and targeting control you have are eye-opening. If you're a marketing or communications geek, you'll appreciate the opportunity to put your education and experience to work. And if not - find out the questions your marketing folks should be asking of you, or learn the options so you can explain them to others.

Oh, and promoted posts? Susan has a rant about that. She'll share the way you can show all of someone's "feed" and share an example of a marketing piece that asks a company's fans and friends to "tell Facebook you want to see all our updates."

Next Month: Tablets and Smart Phones Play Date

Firecat First Friday, June 7, 2013, noon - 1:30

On June 7, bring your favorite mobile devices - smart phones, tablets and more - and be ready to tell us about the apps you find helpful, the games you find addictive, when you are willing to pay for an app, how much is too much, and other stuff about these handheld devices that didn't exist 10 years ago that we now (seemingly) can't live and work without.

Block out noon - 1:30 pm on each first Friday of the month - make lunch plans with Firecat and your own brain. And yes - please feel free to suggest upcoming brown bag topics and presenters. Thanks!
